Sillago sihama.

Where they live

Northern whiting are common along beaches, sandbars, mangrove creeks and estuaries. 

Adults bury themselves in the sand when disturbed. 

They feed mainly on polychaete worms, small prawns and amphipods.

Size and age

Grow to 31cm and live for 7 years.

Small baited hook or cast net or drag net.
