Check if your vehicle needs an inspection

To register your vehicle, you must get an inspection.

For older cars on the road, you will need a roadworthy inspection every 12 months to renew your registration.

The following shows when your type of vehicle needs an inspection to register your car.

Legend:

  • A - compliance check only if vehicle details do not match.
  • B - first roadworthy inspection required from five years old and next roadworthy inspection required when vehicle is 10 years old.
  • C - annual roadworthy inspection, unless exempted under an approved vehicle maintenance scheme.
