Camping at Finke Gorge
1. Camping at Finke Gorge
The shady campground is situated along the picturesque Palm Creek (that occasionally has a small waterhole). Local wildlife abound in this area, particularly in the late afternoon and early mornings. Finke Gorge campground has toilets, hot showers, gas barbecues and picnic areas. Camping fees are payable on site and camping is only permitted in designated areas. Remember to collect firewood before entering the park. Fires are allowed in communal fire pits only. The Park is accessible all year round except when the Finke River is in flood. The cooler months are best time of year to visit (April to September) but wildlife is more abundant after summer rains. A great place to unwind for a couple of days!
