Walking at Serpentine Gorge
1. Serpentine Gorge Lookout Walk
This walk starts just before the Serpentine Waterhole and travels up to the top of the range. Remember to bring plenty of water, wear a good hat and sunscreen. The
walk is up an exposed, rocky slope with very little shade but the views
from the summit make the effort more than worth it. The views are, well,
overwhelming and there is something to marvel at in every direction. The lookout area on top is perched above the cliffs and gives visitors a birds-eye-view of the narrow, winding Serpentine Gorge to the north. The views are 360 degrees and gives the visitor a unique perspective of the MacDonnell Ranges and the sheltered gorges and waterholes that are so important.
