The Ellery Campground is a small, charming campground set close by to the deep Ellery Waterhole. Wildlife abound in the area of one of the best opportunities to spot wildlife is to be there in the late afternoon and early mornings - so camping puts you right there amongst the wildlife action! Most of the bird life and many of the mammals in the surrounding area have to visit the waterhole at least once a day.
Camping on sight will often give you the opportunity to spot mammals such as the top order carnivore of the Park, the Dingo. Dingoes are wild animals and should not be fed or approached. Wild Dingoes are sometimes inquisitive but they should keep their distance. They are just interested in hunting for Black-footed Rock-wallabies and other kangaroos as they come down to drink at the waterhole.
