1. Old Owen Springs Homestead (Ruin)

Pick up a copy of the self-drive Information sheet from the information shelter when you enter the Reserve.  It will show you where and how you can stop and walk around the Old Owen Springs Homestead.  The Homestead is in ruins but is a fascinating place to visit. The deep red local stone what was used in its construction makes the ruin blaze in the early morning or late afternoon sun. The homestead site is still a relatively remote site so the place converges up images of just how harsh the life was for the early parstoralists. On the drive you will be able to see the Milners Hut from 1950 and the Aboriginal Stockmens Quarters from early pastoral days.
