The John Flynn's Grave Historical Reserve contains a memorial to, and the ashes of, The Reverend John Flynn. The ashes of Mrs Jean Flynn, John Flynn's wife, are also contained within this unique and moving memorial. Pioneering the present day Royal Flying Doctor Service, Flynn is remembered as one of the true pioneers of the Centre. Even today, many people living in remote parts of inland Australia owe their very lives to the work and ideas that Flynn pioneered.
