General Information
A Taxi licence ballot will take place in November 2007.
Commercial passenger vehicle operators in Darwin and Alice Springs have the opportunity to apply for a Taxi licence, with a ballot draw to allocate the available licences.
The ballot will seek to allocate the following:
- Alice Springs – at least 1 Multiple Purpose Taxi Licence
- Darwin – at least 2 Multiple Purpose Taxi Licences, and at least 2 Standard Taxi Licences
It is a condition of any Multiple Purpose Taxi licence that priority is to be given to carrying passengers in wheelchairs.
The ballot is open to commercial passenger vehicle operators currently accredited under the Commercial Passenger (Road) Transport Act.
