Aim of the School Program 

To reduce the number of school-aged students involved in serious road crashes throughout the Northern Territory.

Objectives

  1. To raise awareness about road safety issues/problems amongst parents of preschool and primary students throughout the Northern Territory.
  2. To raise awareness about road safety issues/problems amongst primary-school students throughout the Northern Territory.  Delivery is divided into three groups, junior primary, middle primary and upper primary.
  3. To raise awareness about road safety issues/problems amongst students throughout the Northern Territory.  Delivery differs from other primary school programs in that Road Safety Officers target these students with road safety education programs due to their greater independent mobility.
  4. To research and develop a road safety strategy to raise awareness of relevant road safety issues for high-school students throughout the Northern Territory.
