Power and Water administers Pensioner and Carer concessions for electricity, water and sewerage services on behalf of the Department of Health and Community Services.
Under the Northern Territory Pensioner and Carer Concession Scheme, you can obtain a rebate on electricity charges of 50% of your quarterly account, up to a maximum rebate of $1.00 per day.
Water charges have a Pensioner and Carer concession rebate of 62.5% of the quarterly account or a maximum rebate of 27.4 cents per day, whichever is the lesser amount.
Charges attract a fixed concession of 27.4 cents per day.
To register under this scheme, take your Pensioner and Carer concession card (issued by the Department of Health and Community Services) to your local Power and Water office.
Your future accounts will then show the concession granted.
If your account was not credited with the concession, please contact staff at Power and Water Customer Service either in person or via telephone. Please be prepared to quote your Power and Water customer ID or have the appropriate bill available.
For further information, please read the Pensioner and Carer Concession Scheme brochures produced by the Department of Health and Community Services.
