Representatives from eight key government agencies will come together to outline the NT Government assistance available to non-profit organisations.
Attorney General and Justice Minister Dr Peter Toyne said the forums would be conducted throughout the Territory from next Monday through to early December.
“These forums will provide an overview of the assistance provided by the Northern Territory Government to the ‘Not for Profit’ sector,” Dr Toyne said.
“The sessions will outline grant programs and other support resources and will enable ‘not for profit’ volunteer organisations throughout the Territory to seek specific information on programs from the relevant Government agencies in their region.
“Territorians have a particularly high level of engagement in community clubs and associations.
“These ‘not for profit’ volunteer managed organisations contribute an enormous amount to both Territorians and the Territory economy.
“On average most Territorians belong to at least two clubs or associations.”
The community forums will be conducted after hours between 6.30pm and 8.30pm to enable as many people as possible to attend.
All non-profit organisations are invited to attend the forum in their area.
The forums are additional to the support to club and association officials being provided through training and legislation awareness seminars which have been underway throughout the Territory since May.
