Metering Code
Section 72 of the Water
Supply and Sewerage Services Act 2000 and clause 9.1(e) of Power and Water's
water supply services licence requires that Power and Water, as licensee, must
develop and publish a code setting out the arrangements and conditions for
installing, testing, verifying and replacing meters owned by Power and Water,
and that this code must be submitted to the Commission for consideration and
approval.
In July 2006, Power and Water
sought the Commission's approval for some revisions to the approved Code. The
Commission approved the revised Code as the proposed changes submitted by Power
and Water do not alter the Code substantially enough to be considered
inconsistent with the objects of the Act.
Trade Waste Code
Section 83(4) of the Water
Supply and Sewerage Services Act 2000 requires that Power and Water, as
licensee, must publish a code setting out the conditions on which Power and
Water will approve trade waste being discharged into Power and Water’s sewerage
services infrastructure, and that this code must be submitted to the Commission
for consideration and approval.
The Code has been developed by
Power and Water in conjunction with industry participants.
