Superannuation Arrangements
NTGPASS is closed to employees who commence service with the Territory Government after 9 August 1999. Employees who commence after that date are in choice of superannuation arrangements which means they can choose the superannuation fund to which the Territory Government will contribute superannuation guarantee (currently 9 per cent of salary). New employees should complete a Superannuation Fund Choice Form to advise their salaries/personnel officer the name of the superannuation fund that they want their superannuation guarantee contributions paid to.
New employees who do not return the Superannuation Fund Choice Form to their salaries/personnel officer within 28 days of commencing employment will have their superannuation guarantee contributions paid to the default superannuation fund, the Australian Government Employees Superannuation Trust (AGEST).
