Could you be a FOIT?

Northern Territory Treasury seeks to recruit enthusiastic and accomplished graduates to participate in the work of business units and who can contribute to Treasury from day one.

Applicants should have successfully completed a degree with sound academic results in one or more of the following disciplines:

  • Accounting
  • Economics
  • Finance
  • Commerce
  • Law
  • Public Administration

Selection Criteria

We assess applicants against the following selection criteria:

  • Demonstrated analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to apply academic knowledge and concepts to practical situations.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and organise own workload to meet deadlines.
  • Sound oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise, accurate reports.
  • Sound experience in the use of personal computers.

Personal Qualities

Personal qualities we look for in our FOITs are initiative, integrity, enthusiasm, and a high degree of personal motivation and commitment. Applicants should be well organised, able to work both independently or as part of a team, and able to work under pressure to meet regular and often tight deadlines.

Experience

Any work experience before, during or after graduating, may be useful in demonstrating the abilities/qualities referred to above. Prior relevant work experience is not a pre-requisite for selection but, combined with academic qualifications, can be taken into account in determining salary level.
