The FOIT Graduate Program

The FOIT program comprises the following:

  • formal training in the processes of Government and weekly workshops and seminars detailing the functions of Treasury;
  • three to four monthly placements within Treasury; and
  • the chance to complete a Graduate Certificate in Public Governance upon successful completion of the program.

Formal Training Courses includes a selection of practical courses which complement the ‘hands on’ experience gained through employment placements. Seminars and workshops cover various aspects of Treasury’s operations and are presented by Directors and senior staff. Other sessions cover processes in the Northern Territory Public Sector.

  • Reviewing and Writing Cabinet Comments
  • Sources of Revenue (Commonwealth and Own Source Revenue)
  • Territory Budget and Financial Management
  • Microeconomic Reform Issues
  • Functions of the NT Superannuation Office
  • Funds Management
  • Economic and Social Issues Analysis
  • Privatisation and Appropriate Role for Government
  • Information Act and Privacy Session
  • Cross Cultural Awareness
  • Basic Anti-Discrimination course by the Anti Discrimination Commission
  • Functions and Services of the Department of Corporate and Information Services
