*New* Click here to view the latest news and media Click here for the updated APA Conference program Click here for concurrent session abstracts The 14th biennial conference of the Australian Population Association (http://www.apa.org.au/) will be held in Alice Springs from Monday 30th June to Thursday 3rd July 2008 at the Alice Springs Convention Centre. Researchers, planners, policy-makers and others working on, or with an interest in, population issues are warmly invited to join us in the Australian Outback. The conference will be a fantastic opportunity to hear international perspectives on contemporary population issues. Our keynote speaker program features highly respected international population experts, and a comprehensive program of concurrent sessions based on the conference themes of:
Alice Springs is affectionately regarded as ‘the heart’ of Australia’. It is a perfect place for experiencing Aboriginal culture, outback heritage and the warm hospitality of the people and businesses of ‘the Alice’. We have organised an entertaining social program to give you a taste of the vast and beautiful Central Australian region. A joint meeting of the Australian Population Association and the Population Association of New Zealand will be held on the afternoon of 3rd July. The Borrie Lecture will be delivered by the Australian Statistician, Mr Brian Pink on Monday 30th June and will be followed by a welcome function.
