Northern Territory Policy Framework For Spatial Information

Policies

An essential component of any Spatial Data Infrastructure is a clear framework of policy, standards and guidelines for the management and use of spatial information.

The framework established in the NT was endorsed by government in 1999 and includes policies and associated guidelines as follows:

Custodianship of Corporate Land Information

Access to Corporate Land Information

Information about data sets or Metadata

Commercial Supply of Data

Data Supply Agreements

Copyright and Intellectual Property

Management of Liability

Guidelines

Custodianship Guidelines

Standard Data Licence Agreement 2007 (PDF)

It is recognized that this framework needs to be reviewed and brought up to date to encompass changes arising from national agreements and in various legislation such as Copyright law and the NT Information Act.
