We aim to encourage all Territorians to live a healthy & active lifestyle.
The Darwin Bowls and Social Club (Inc) was formed in 1959 and is the Territory's oldest lawn bowls club. The Club provides high quality lawn bowls turf greens and social facilities for members, visitors and guests. The Club is open daily from 10am and is situated close to the city in beautiful Fannie Bay at 8 Conacher Street, just down the road from the Museum and Art Gallery.
Darwin Runners & Walkers meet every Wednesday night in locations in and around Darwin to go for a run or walk. You can usually choose between a 2km and a 5km event. Members' times are recorded via electronic chip and published on this website.
This national program aims to improve the participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in sport and recreation as athletes, coaches, sports administrators and trainers.
The Northern Territory Institute of Sport (Department of Local Government, Housing and Sport) is part of the Australian Institutes and Academies of Sport network that has been developed to foster elite athlete development. The NTIS consists of a collection of professional expertise, services and resources focused on the delivery of programs designed to enhance athlete and coach performance.
Softball NT is based at Tracy Village in Darwin and keeps regular contact with regional Softball Associations and communities throughout the Territory. Games are played on Saturdays in Alice Springs, Darwin and Katherine during the NT softball season which is April to September.
The Northern Territory Department of Sport, Recreation and Racing's vision is to facilitate for all Territorians to have a lifelong involvement in sport and active recreation.
