The Licensing Commission is an independent statutory authority with extensive powers to regulate and enforce the Territory's racing, gaming and licensing legislation. The Commission operates as an independent tribunal with responsibility for licensing and related matters covering liquor control, kava management, private security, escort agencies and gaming machines.
This database contains all the current consolidated Acts and subordinate legislation of the Northern Territory of Australia.
Business Licences, Permits and Application Forms. Territory Business Centres provide a range of licence information and application forms for licences administered through a number of Northern Territory Government agencies.
Licensing, Regulation and Alcohol Strategy (LRAS) administers and enforces the Northern Territory's regulatory regimes for gaming, wagering, liquor, kava, tobacco, private security, business affairs, associations administration, licensing under the Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading Act, agents licensing and escort agencies. LRAS also develops and implements strategies for reducing alcohol supply, consumption and resultant harm.
The responsibilities of the Racing Commission are to promote probity and integrity in racing and betting in the Territory; to maintain the probity and integrity of persons engaged in racing and betting in the Territory; to maintain the probity and integrity of persons engaged in racing and betting in the Territory; and to reduce any adverse social impact of betting.
Racing, Gaming and Licensing aims to effectively administer legislation and develop policy that minimises harm related to gaming, racing, liquor, kava, private security, prostitution, tobacco and associated activities.
