The Department of Health exists to provide services that work together for the health and well-being of our communities: maximising physical health but also the mental, social and environmental well-being of all Territorians.
Epidemiology Branch's core business is to monitor the health status of the Northern Territory by collecting population level information. Generally Epidemiology investigates the spread of diseases based on the collection of population level statistics. Data analysed includes mortality, cancer and perinatal information. For information on communicable diseases please refer to the Centre for Disease Control.
The Northern Territory Population Projections have been developed to meet the needs of Northern Territory Government agencies as well as the broader community.
