Power and Water is the premier provider of electricity, water and sewerage services in the Northern Territory.
The Electrical Workers and Contractors Licensing Board (EWCLB) administers the Electrical Workers and Contractors Act, through licensing, to ensure work in the industry is only carried out by adequately trained workers and that they produce safe electrical installations.
Electrical Safety administers the Electricity Reform Act and Electricity Reform (Safety & Technical) Regulations to establish and maintain safe practices relating to the use of electricity, the technical and safety standards for electrical installations and the safety and energy efficiency standards for appliances and equipment.
NT WorkSafe promotes safer workplaces and support for injured workers. NT WorkSafe works with employers and employees to ensure injured workers have access to medical, pharmaceutical, rehabilitation costs and income support. Under NT WorkSafe, all employers must hold a workers compensation insurance policy to cover all employees.
