Statutory Bodies

The Information Commissioner is an independent officer whose two main functions are to: promote understanding and awareness of Freedom of Information (FOI) and Privacy in the community and public sector; and deal with complaints about breaches of privacy and about FOI decisions made by public sector agencies and local and community government councils.
This database contains all the current consolidated Acts and subordinate legislation of the Northern Territory of Australia.
The Territory Coroner oversees and coordinates all coronial services throughout the Northern Territory and ensures, on behalf of the community, that all deaths and suspected deaths over which a coroner has jurisdiction are thoroughly investigated.
Gambling and Licensing Services (GLS) administers and enforces the Northern Territory's regulatory regimes for gaming, wagering, liquor, kava, tobacco, private security, business affairs, associations administration, licensing under the Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading Act, agents licensing and escort agencies. Our objective is to minimise harm to the community through the appropriate and effective regulation of these activities.
Treasurer’s Directions on issue comprise a selection of ‘new’ Treasurer’s Directions and a selection of existing Treasurer’s Directions.
