Northern Territory Community Corrections (NTCC) primary function is to provide services to the Courts, the Parole Board and the community. Community Corrections manage and supervise offenders on community-based supervision Orders such as Probation, Parole, Home/Alternative Detention, Community Work and Bail to promote positive behavioural change, ensure they comply with specific conditions of Orders, legislation and standards.
The Parole Board plays an important role in the Northern Territory criminal justice system by deciding whether a prisoner should be released to parole. The Parole Board makes decisions about juvenile and adult prisoners and prisoners who are serving a sentence of life imprisonment for the crime of murder.
The Solicitor for the Northern Territory maintains excellence and integrity in the government's legal dealings by the provision of quality advice, representation and documentation to government Ministers, agencies and employees.
