The Department of Health exists to provide services that work together for the health and well-being of our communities: maximising physical health but also the mental, social and environmental well-being of all Territorians.
The Alcohol and Other Drugs Program aims to minimise harm associated with the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, through a range of prevention, education, treatment and community action initiatives.
The Policy Coordination Unit is made up of Legal Policy, Community and Justice Policy and the departments Research and Statistics Unit. Essentially, any policy issue across the department is fed through this new unit for advice and further development. This ensures whole of Government/departmental strategies and directions are consistently met in the most efficient and effective way. As well as internal matching, Policy Coordination is responsible for any Department of Justice policy responses/submissions to other agencies, both Government and non Government
