The primary objective of the Community Housing Program in the Territory is to assist those community agencies that provide accommodation services to people requiring ongoing support.
Information on obtaining the First Home Buyers Grant
A stamp duty concession of up to $3640.60 for first home buyers, or stamp duty rebate of to $1 500 for people purchasing their principal place of residence.
Small Grants for Small Rural Communities - Grants of up to $5,000.
Caring for Ageing in Rural Australia - Grants of up to $10,000
ANZ Seeds of Renewal - Grants of up to $15,000
General fuel subsidy of 1.1 cents per litre for suppliers of petroleum (motor spirits) and bulk end users of diesel used for on-road purposes
The Australian Government's Remote Renewable Power Generation Program (RRPGP) Extension program provides financial support to increase the use of renewable generation in remote parts of Australia that presently rely on fossil fuel for electricity supply. The Program has funding available to 30 June 2011. In the Northern Territory, The program is administered by the Energy Policy and Renewable Energy Team, Department of Regional Development, Primary Industry, Fisheries and Resources. Rebates are available for wind or solar power and water pumping systems.
Department of Natural Resources Environment and The Arts (NRETA) has the following grants programs: Regional Museums Grant Support Program, Arts Grants Program, NT Film Grants Program, Heritage Grants, Natural Heritage Trust and Environment Grants.
The Northern Territory Film Office (NTFO) supports and develop the film, television and digital media industry in the Northern Territory. Our key role is to develop and grow the local industry, attract production to the Northern Territory and celebrate a vibrant and innovative screen culture.
Provides assistance to Councils and declared local governing bodies.
Applications for the Grants are invited by advertisement in NT newspapers and the Weekend Australian in mid-March each year. Applications are invited from individuals or groups throughout Australia to take up grants after August of each year.
The Policy Coordination Unit is made up of Legal Policy, Community and Justice Policy and the departments Research and Statistics Unit. Essentially, any policy issue across the department is fed through this new unit for advice and further development. This ensures whole of Government/departmental strategies and directions are consistently met in the most efficient and effective way. As well as internal matching, Policy Coordination is responsible for any Department of Justice policy responses/submissions to other agencies, both Government and non Government
The Policy Coordination Unit in the Department of Justice does exactly as the name suggests, it coordinates policy. It has responsibility for Law Making & Law Reform, Community Justice Centre, Alcohol Policy & Coordination, Community Benefit Fund, Construction Contracts Registrar and the Research and Statistic Unit.
The Northern Territory Government offers financial assistance to sport, recreation and local government organisations to assist the delivery of services and programs to the community. This is provided through a grants program which is administered on an annual basis.
Assist young Territorians to access drug and alcohol free entertainment and youth development/leadership activities. There are three set rounds per year: December/January, National Youth Week (April) and July.
