The Northern Territory Government has committed $2.4 million over three years to increase the intensity of exploration drilling and geophysics in greenfields areas of the Northern Territory. This Geophysics and Drilling Collaborations program co-funds selected exploration drilling and geophysical acquisition projects in greenfields areas where there is a paucity of geological information.

Department of Natural Resources Environment and The Arts (NRETA) has the following grants programs: Regional Museums Grant Support Program, Arts Grants Program, NT Film Grants Program, Heritage Grants, Natural Heritage Trust and Environment Grants.

The Policy Coordination Unit is made up of Legal Policy, Community and Justice Policy and the departments Research and Statistics Unit. Essentially, any policy issue across the department is fed through this new unit for advice and further development. This ensures whole of Government/departmental strategies and directions are consistently met in the most efficient and effective way. As well as internal matching, Policy Coordination is responsible for any Department of Justice policy responses/submissions to other agencies, both Government and non Government
The Policy Coordination Unit in the Department of Justice does exactly as the name suggests, it coordinates policy. It has responsibility for Law Making & Law Reform, Community Justice Centre, Alcohol Policy & Coordination, Community Benefit Fund, Construction Contracts Registrar and the Research and Statistic Unit.
The fund assists with development of business and industry capability in all regions of the NT by stimulating and supporting regional economic development.
Each year the Northern Territory Government offers a wide range of scholarships and bursaries for School Leavers, Vocational Education and Training (VET) Scholarships, Student Teacher Bursaries and Arts Scholarships.
The Northern Territory Government offers financial assistance to sport, recreation and local government organisations to assist the delivery of services and programs to the community. This is provided through a grants program which is administered on an annual basis.
Sport and Recreation plays a major role in the provision of sporting facilities throughout the Northern Territory through the capital works program and the facility grants program.
Territory businesses and individuals can benefit from training programs and funding to assist in providing training and to increase employment opportunities for Territorians.
Treasury consists of six business units and two statutory authorities with functional responsibilities stipulated in the Administrative Arrangements Order of 10 February 2009.
Assist young Territorians to access drug and alcohol free entertainment and youth development/leadership activities. There are three set rounds per year: December/January, National Youth Week (April) and July.
The NT Government, through OYA Youth Grants Program assists young people and youth and community organisations to get their ideas off the ground and assists young people in the Northern Territory to access a variety of events, programs and activities.
