Teachers prepare for new challenges (3 December)
It’s a long way from the leafy avenues of Melbourne to the NT outback. The Department of Education and Training is currently training 23 teachers, recently recruited from interstate, who will take up early childhood positions in remote communities. As part of their preparation the teachers undertook 4WD training last week. The teachers have been employed as part of the Closing the Gap action plan. More
Seeking members to Indigenous Education Council (3 December)
Expressions of interest are sought from Indigenous people across the Territory to be appointed as members of the Northern Territory Indigenous Education Council. The Council will provide expert advice on Indigenous education to the NT and Australian governments. Directly consulting with Indigenous people across the Territory, the council will reflect Indigenous people’s views and aspirations on education services and outcomes. Applications close Friday 19 December 2008. More
