Welcome to the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services

Friday 5 December is International Volunteers Day, a day to thank all those people who dedicate their time and skills to community organisations everywhere.

The Northern Territory Emergency Service (NTES) currently has over 300 volunteers who give up their spare time to train and respond to a range of emergencies and community activities across the Territory.

Volunteer members play a vital role in assisting the community when emergency situations occur, such as severe storm and flood damage, flood boat rescues, supporting road accident rescues and providing welfare.

NTES offers an opportunity for adventure, excitement, making new friends, making a difference in your community and gaining national qualifications whilst doing it.

Public displays are being set up on Friday 5 December where you can meet some of the current volunteers and as well as go in the draw to win an Emergency Kit valued at over $300. Displays are at – Darwin City Mall from 9am to 11am, Coolalinga Shopping Centre from 12noon to 1pm and Palmerston Shopping Centre from 4pm to 6pm.

Welcome Sessions are being held next week for anyone interested in becoming a volunteer with the Northern Territory Emergency Services.
