Mark Ziembicki – PhD Student

Qualifications

Mark has worked on biodiversity conservation issues for the past 8 years half of which has been in northern Australia.

Research

Mark is currently completing his PhD through the University of Adelaide on the ecology and movements of the Australian Bustard. He is interested in the movements and population dynamics of Australia’s fauna, particularly birds, in relation to the environmental variability characteristic of vast regions of Australia.

He is currently employed half-time by the Australian National University on a project documenting Aboriginal knowledge of mammals across northern Australia. He has broad interests in biogeography, ethnobiology and conservation biology and has particular interests in island ecology, coordinating a research project for the Vini lorikeets of eastern Polynesia.
