Northern Territory Herbarium Volunteer Program
The Northern Territory Herbarium has an active volunteer program. Vvolunteers come from the Darwin, Palmerston, and Darwin rural areas of the Northern Territory.
They include members of the general public not necessarily having a botanical background, as well as interested students and professionals.
Volunteers are encouraged to interact with the Herbarium staff and are included in our social activities.
Volunteers Are Vital to The Herbarium
Herbarium volunteers perform important functions within the Hebarium including mounting of specimens, databasing of accession details, filing of specimens and occasional one day field trips.
All volunteers are provided with the training required to undertake the various activities. If you are interested in volunteering some of your time at the herbarium please talk to our volunteer co-ordinator.
