N.T. Infonet
NT Infonet is website that provides map-based information to help people manage biodiversity, weeds and pest animals on their properties. Land managers can select from a designated list of conservation reserves, local government area or bioregions or draw their own area of interest. They can then choose to download a NRM Snapshot that provides an overview of the biodiversity values and threats for this area, or to find specific information using the NRM Explorer.
NT Infonet draws on over 1.5 million plants and animals records collected by Biodiversity Conservation and the Northern Territory Herbarium, as well as maps of soils and vegetation from NRETA Maps and fire histories from the North Australian Fire Information website.
The NT InfoNet project is a collaboration between Tropical Savannas Cooperative Research Centre and the Department of Natural Resources, Environment and the Arts. This two year project has been funded by the Natural Heritage Trust as a result of the NT Integrated NRM Plan and Regional Investment Strategy.
