NT Waterwise Central Australia Rebate Scheme
New and Increased Rebates
The Northern Territory Government, in partnership with Power and Water Corporation, is providing increased rebates of up to $150 for certain water saving products and up to $500 for eligible water saving plumbing services in Alice Springs and Tennant Creek.
The rebates make it easier for residents to save water at home by;
- fixing leaks,
- purchasing and installing water efficient products, and
- reducing dependence on our groundwater supplies by supplementing with rainwater or reusing greywater.

The Small Product Rebate is available on items up to $50 including:
- Low flow shower rose (3-star or higher)
- Flow controller
- Hose trigger nozzle
- Garden tap timer
The Large Product Rebate is available on items $150 up to including:
- Washing machine (4-star or higher Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards (WELS) rating)
- Swimming pool cover (endorsed with a Smart Approved WaterMark)
Toilet Product (up to $150) and Toilet Retrofit (up to $200) Rebates : Limited Offer! Replace your old toilet with a 4-star dual flush toilet (pedestal and cistern).
- The Toilet (Product) and Toilet (Retrofit) Rebates can be claimed for multiple toilets in one household. The rebates cover the purchase of a new dual flush toilet (4-star or higher) and installation of the toilet to replace an older model.
- Residents who have claimed another rebate in the NT Waterwise Central Australia Rebate Scheme this financial year can still apply.
- Toilets must be installed by a GreenPlumber® to receive your NT Waterwise rebate.
Indoor Plumbing Rebate
Up to $100 is available for the eligible plumbing services performed by a GreenPlumber®.
- Fix leaking taps and toilets
- Install flow regulators/aerators on bathroom or kitchen taps
- Install a low flow shower rose (3 star WELS rating or higher)
Outdoor Plumbing Rebate
Up to $500 is available for the following services performed by a GreenPlumber®:
- Connecting a rainwater tank to a household hot water system, toilet, washing machine or air-conditioner. Minimum tank size eligibility is 1000L.
- Plumbing services associated with installing an NT Government approved greywater diversion device. For more information and a list of NT approved greywater diversion devices visit www.nt.gov.au/health.
To apply for the Outdoor Plumbing Rebate you need to undertake a Home Water Audit. The Home Water Audit will help you to determine the cheapest and easiest way to save water at home; help you to identify what rainwater or greywater technology may be suitable for your home and encourage you to think about any risks associated with the technology.
