Water Allocation Plans detail sustainable water management strategies that are developed in consultation with the community to ensure the values associated with the relevant water source are protected.
The Water Allocation Plan for the Tindall Limestone Aquifer, Katherine was written over a three year period by the Northern Territory Government, in partnership with the Katherine Water Advisory Committee.
The Plan has a lifespan of 10 years from declaration by the Minister for Natural Resources, Environment and Heritage and will be reviewed after 5 years.
