Katherine Water Advisory Committee (KWAC)
Function and Role
The Katherine Water Advisory Committee (KWAC) was announced by the Minister for Natural Resources, Environment and Heritage on the 21st February 2007 as a sub-committee of the Daly River Management Advisory Committee.
KWAC advises Government through the Daly River Management Advisory Committee (DRMAC) on matters relating to the management of water resources within the Water Allocation Planning Area for the Tindall Limestone Aquifer in Katherine.
The Katherine Water Advisory Committee exists to incorporate community values and beliefs in the water allocation and planning process.
The focus of this committee is to advise government on the formulation of a Water Allocation Plan for the Tindall Limestone Aquifer within the Plan area.
