Water is endlessly circulating between the oceans, the atmosphere and the land. Groundwater is an integral part of this cycle.
Some of the rain seeps into the ground to become groundwater. It then moves under the action of gravity to low points in the landscape, where it eventually return to the earths surface in places such as springs.
