Daly Region Community Reference Group
On 9 November 2003, the Chief Minister announced that a Community Reference Group will be established to advise government on an Integrated Regional Land Use Plan for the Daly Region in accordance with the following core principles:
- There will be no dams on the Daly River.
- There will be no cotton grown in the Northern Territory (existing trials will be completed).
- There will be no further subdivision for new agricultural blocks or new land clearing approvals until a draft Integrated Land Use Plan has been completed.
