All meters for this project will be fitted according to Australian Standards. To be eligible for a free bore meter and to participate in the project, your bore must be equipped with enough piping, or have the ability to be equipped with extra piping to hold a bore meter.

For example, a bore with exposed piping with a diameter of 50 mm (2”) would require 750 mm of straight pipe to fit a bore meter, or provide for the ability to have additional pipping fitted to meet the required length.

A volunteer would be deemed ineligible if the piping of the bore is located underground or if extra piping can’t be fitted. Please note that all bore set ups vary, and the photos depicted below are not necessarily representative of bores in your region.

If you are unsure whether your bore has the ability to be equipped with a bore meter, please email your details and a photo if possible to water.nreta@nt.gov.au or telephone 8999 4611.
