Description of Telemetered Gauging StationStation Number: 9030124Station Name: Daly Waters Creek at Daly Waters This site is located on Daly Waters Creek, approximately 1 km from Daly Waters historic pub. It was established in 1976, as part of a program to investigate the water resources in the Northern Territory. It has since been incorporated into the Departments’ Flood Warning Telemetry Network, providing near ‘real time’ river height data. The instrumentation at the site measures rainfall and river height. The river height is recorded in metres, to a local gauge datum (GD). This data is relayed back to the Departments’ Hydrographic unit in Darwin via telemetry. This data is automatically forwarded to the Bureau of Meteorology. The maximum recorded river height at this station was 1.9 m, recorded on 16th of February, 2001. |
