Description of Telemetered Gauging StationStation Number: G8170085Station Name: Acacia Creek at Stuart Highway This site is located on Acacia Creek at Stuart Highway, approximately 46 km SE of Darwin. It was established in 1963, as part of a program to investigate the water resources in the Northern Territory. It has since been incorporated into the Departments’ Flood Warning Telemetry Network, providing near ‘real time’ river height data. The instrumentation at the site measures height. The height is recorded in metres, to a local gauge datum (GD). This data is relayed back to the Departments’ Hydrographic unit in Darwin via telemetry. This data is automatically forwarded to the Bureau of Meteorology. The maximum recorded height at this station was 2.884 m, recorded on 25th of April, 2006. |
