Description of Telemetered Gauging StationStation Number: G8170075Station Name: Manton River at Upstream Manton Dam This site is located on the Manton River upstream of Manton Dam, approximately 56 km SSE of Darwin. It was established in 1963, as part of a program to investigate the water resources in the Northern Territory. It has since been incorporated into the Departments’ Flood Warning Telemetry Network, providing near ‘real time’ river height data. The instrumentation at the site measures river height. River height is recorded in metres, to a local gauge datum (GD). This data is relayed back to the Departments’ Hydrographic unit in Darwin via telemetry. This data is automatically forwarded to the Bureau of Meteorology. The maximum recorded river height at this station was 2.540 m, recorded on 25th of April, 2006. |
