Station Number G0060009
Station Name Todd River at Anzac Oval

This site is located in Alice Springs next to Anzac Oval, on the right bank of the Todd River below the confluence of the Todd & Charles Rivers. It was established in 1959, recording both Gauge Height (River Height) & Rainfall. In 1990 the site was upgraded with Telemetry, providing near ‘real time’ river height & rainfall data. This data is available for both the prediction & recording of flood events that affect Alice Springs.
The instrumentation at the site measures river height & rainfall, which is relayed back to the Departments’ Hydrographic unit in Darwin via the ‘ALERT’ telemetry system. (Automated Local Evaluation in Real Time) This data is automatically forwarded to the Bureau of Meteorology.
