Stakeholder Involvement

Effective weed management requires the involvement of and communication with a range of stakeholders including landholders, industry, conservation groups, researchers and government agencies.  In developing the Weed Risk Management System for the NT the need for effective communication and the involvement of key stakeholders, is recognised as a key element of the process.

Stakeholders will have input into the development of the Weed Risk Management System in three ways:

  1. public meetings/workshops organised by the project team;
  2. the formation of a technical working group to design the weed risk assessment component of the larger Weed Risk Management System
  3. the formation of a Weed Risk Management System Reference Group.

Membership of these groups are detailed below.  Dates for public meetings/workshops will be advised through this website and via the Weed Risk Management System Reference Group which represents key stakeholders.  Regular newsletter items and media releases will also occur via this website in the near future.
