History

Weed control has been an ongoing commitment for a number of years and there is a brief History of Weed Management (pdf 1.4Mb) you can download.

Weed control programs include the strategic management of mimosa (Mimosa pigra), Biological control of mimosa, Bellyache Bush (Jatropha gossypifolia), Salvinia (Salvinia molesta) and Noogoorra burr (Xanthium occidentales), control of Athel Pine (Tamarix aphylla), Mesquite (Prosopis spp) and Parkinsonia (Parkinsonia aculeata). Strategic mapping utilising mapping software and technology is also providing weed managers with a useful and relevant tool to assist with long term weed management.
