About Us
The Department collects, describes and maps land resource information to assist in sustainable planning through improved understanding of landscape process and properties (landform soil and vegetation). The information is collected according to Australian standards and applicable for Territory wide, regional and local land use planning demands.
A wide range of landscape properties are described from field investigations and as a result a diverse range of reporting and mapping products can be delivered to our clientele. Our clientele include:

- Agricultural and environmental consultants

- Local government and land councils
- Pastoral companies and property managers
- Parks and Wildlife
- Catchment and Landcare groups
- General public
Officers located in Palmerston, Katherine and Alice Springs provide an extension service to clientele.
