Library

The Strehlow library, the core of which is TGH Strehlow’s former professional library, focuses on central Australian history, linguistics and anthropology. It is open to researchers and other interested members of the public from 10am to 4pm Mondays to Fridays by appointment (excluding public holidays).

Study facilities, including lockable rooms, are available to those carrying out long term research projects. Subject to fees and charges, photocopying and interlibrary loan facilities are also available.

All materials in the library are open for public access. Users should be aware, however, that some texts and videos contain images of ceremonial activity or other material that may be gender restricted or otherwise sensitive to Aboriginal people. Please contact the librarian for advice regarding this issue.

Holdings within the Strehlow Research Centre Library may be searched on-line on the Northern Territory Library Services web site.
