Research and Collections
Explore Our Collection
At the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory we care for over 1.2 million natural history specimens and over 30,000 items of art and material culture.
The collection has been developed through field work, purchases and most importantly, donations by members of the community through the Cultural Gifts Program.
You can access the collection through our exhibition or publication programs and through a number of national web based initiatives. We are currently digitising the collection in order to provide greater accessibility to the natural and cultural heritage of the Northern Territory.
Watch this space as our digitisation program develops.
