About Community Education
Community education assists with the management of parks by promoting conservation of the natural and cultural environment by providing educational programs to young Territorians and the broader community.
Educational programs are provided to all sectors of the community to promote positive visitor behaviour to current and future park users. We focus on community education initiatives for young people of today who will be the community leaders of tomorrow. If they use and value the park system, and understand its multiple roles, the chances for future protection of the Northern Territory’s biodiversity will be much improved.
The Junior Ranger program provides an information service to the Government, public, schools, academic institutions, related interstate/international agencies and media outlets.
Some of the services we provide for community education is:
- Junior Ranger Program,
- Junior Ranger Review,
- School of the Air,
- School Support, and
- Displays.
