| The Former CWA Rooms on Lot 906, 95 Todd Street, Alice Springs is historically and architecturally important to the Northern Territory. For much of its existence the building has been closely associated with women living in the town and the Central Australian region. The building serves to recall womens involvement in WWII and later their contribution to community development in an isolated reigon. In latter years, the building has served the tourist industry as a youth hostel. The building is one of the very few extant buildings from the significant WWII period and possesses some distinctive design elements for a building in Alice Springs. |
