Government Agency Waste Management
The Northern Territory Government aims to be at the forefront in environmental purchasing practice through buying goods and services that seek to minimise possible environmental impact. Through government processes such as procurement, waste management/resource efficiency policies and support resources, agencies will focus on greening the government. This strategy looks at:
- Establishing a agency-wide waste management policy and planning process for the Department of Natural Resources, Environment and The Arts (NRETA) as a template for other Northern Territory Government agencies; and
- Introducing greening of government initiatives in the Northern Territory Government
This project will involve NRETA working with the Department of Corporate Information Services, NT Industry Capability Network and Eco-buy Victoria.
