The Northern Territory Government is providing households with a rebate of up to $200 after purchasing selected energy saving devices.

These energy saving devices will not only help you save money and reduce your household power usage, but you will also be helping the environment.

Energy saving devices reduce the amount of greenhouse gases that power consumption produces.

Items available for rebate include power boards, energy efficient light globes, timers, power usage meters and fridge and freezer seals.

How much can I save?

Households can claim a 50% rebate, up to $200, on the purchase and installation costs of selected energy saving items under this Northern Territory Government initiative.

You can save up to $300 per year on your power bill by using selected energy saving items in the Energy Smart Rebate scheme.

Energy saving items in the home are a simple way to save money, save power and help the environment.

Am I eligible?

Households in the Territory can claim an Energy Smart Rebate of up to $200 on items from the approved list of energy Smart items if:

  • You provide copies of receipts for purchase and installation costs.
  • You are applying on behalf of a Territory household where you live and the household is primarily residential and not a place of business.
  • The items have been installed in your household within six months of purchase.
  • You do not sell the rebated items
  • Your household has not previously received the maximum rebate of $200 through this scheme.

How do I apply?

To claim the rebate, you can:

Apply online

  • Step 1: Choose from the approved list of Energy Smart items
  • Step 2: Purchase and install items from the list. Remember to keep your receipts.
  • Step 3: Complete the rebate application form. Remember to include your banking details, and scan or post in your receipts.
